This bill appropriates $550,000 in fiscal year 2022 and $550,000 in fiscal year 2023 from the general fund to the commissioner of higher education for immediate transfer to College Possible, a non-profit organization that supports programs for college admission and graduation for low-income students through intensive coaching and support at both the high school and postsecondary level. The appropriation must be proportionately allocated between students from greater Minnesota and students in the seven-county metropolitan area, and can only be used for programs supporting Minnesota residents attending colleges or universities within Minnesota. College Possible must report annually on the activities funded by this appropriation, including information about the expansion of their programs, the number of coaches hired, the number of students served, and the total hours of community service performed by high school and college students.
