This bill modifies the rules for operating all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) on public roads in Minnesota. It allows statutory or home rule charter cities and towns to pass ordinances permitting ATV operation on trunk highway segments within their jurisdictions that have a speed limit of 30 miles per hour or less. The bill also makes other changes to the existing laws governing ATV use on public roads, including provisions related to the timing and location of such use, as well as the authority of road authorities and the Commissioner of Natural Resources to restrict or limit ATV operation in certain situations.
