This bill establishes the Dignity At Work Act (DAWA) to recognize and protect the right to dignity and other human rights in the workplace, prevent and eliminate workplace bullying, moral, psychological, and general harassment, and provide a remedy for workers who are targets of such abuse. Key provisions include: - Defining workplace bullying, moral/psychological/general harassment, and related terms, and prohibiting such behaviors regardless of motivation or intent. - Requiring employers to take steps to prevent, detect, and remedy workplace bullying and harassment, including posting notices and implementing anti-bullying policies. - Holding employers strictly liable for supervisor misconduct and liable for employee misconduct unless they can establish an affirmative defense. - Allowing targets to recover economic, compensatory, and punitive damages, as well as injunctive relief. - Establishing a Fair Work Commission to investigate, adjudicate, and enforce complaints under the Act. - Providing a 3-year statute of limitations for bringing claims. - Prohibiting waivers of rights under the Act, such as through arbitration agreements or non-disclosure clauses.
