This bill amends Massachusetts state law to require that all trade contractors and subcontractors working on certain construction projects maintain or participate in an apprenticeship program registered and approved by the state or the U.S. Department of Labor. Contractors must employ apprentices from these programs on the project throughout the duration of the contract. Effective January 1, 2023, the apprenticeship program must have graduated apprentices to journey worker status for at least three of the past five years to be eligible.
