This bill amends the education law to increase the maximum time limits for tuition assistance program (TAP) awards. Specifically, it increases the maximum number of academic years of study for undergraduate students from four to six, or from five to seven if the program of study normally requires five years. For students enrolled in approved two-year programs, the maximum is increased from three to four academic years. The bill also provides additional eligibility for students who must transfer to another institution due to the permanent closure of their college.
