This bill amends the Texas Transportation Code to require the cessation of tolls on certain toll projects once the costs of acquisition and construction have been paid and the bonds and interest on the bonds have been paid or set aside in a trust fund. The bill specifies that once these conditions are met, the toll project will become part of the state highway system or the county road system, and the project must be maintained without tolls. The bill also requires the Texas Department of Transportation, in consultation with the Legislative Budget Board, to conduct a study and produce a report on the costs associated with the cessation of toll collection on highways in the state.
