This bill, titled the "Sister City Transparency Act," directs the Comptroller General of the United States to conduct a study on the activities of sister city partnerships operating within the United States involving foreign communities in countries with significant public sector corruption. The study will examine the criteria used to identify potential sister city partners, the activities and outcomes of such partnerships, the transparency and oversight practices, and the national security implications of these arrangements. The Comptroller General is required to submit a report with the findings, conclusions, and recommendations to the appropriate congressional committees within 6 months of initiating the study.
