This bill revises the law establishing the Office of Food Security Advocate and sets certain conditions for the use of monies appropriated to emergency food organizations. The bill requires that 10% of each emergency food organization's funding be spent on New Jersey agricultural products, up to 30% can be used for administrative and capital costs, and at least 60% must be used to support local distribution agencies. The Office of the Food Security Advocate will develop a process to gather data on the needs of local distribution agencies, and emergency food organizations must submit monthly reports detailing their expenditures of state funds. The allotment of funding to emergency food organizations is contingent on their implementation of the plan and meeting other contractual obligations.
