This bill aims to amend the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) to provide a uniform 8-digit subheading number for all whiskies. Specifically, it will strike the existing subheadings for whiskies and insert a new subheading "2208.30.00 Whiskies" with a duty-free tariff rate of $2.04 per proof liter. The bill also instructs the United States International Trade Commission to add further statistical suffixes to this new subheading to differentiate between Irish/Scotch, Bourbon, Rye, and other whiskies based on container size. The amendments made by this bill will apply to articles entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after 15 days from the date of enactment.
