This bill, the Save Our Airports Reporting Act, requires the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to submit progress reports to Congress on the development and implementation of a national plan to transition to the use of a fluorine-free firefighting foam at Part 139 airports, which are airports certified under Part 139 of the Code of Federal Regulations. The reports must include assessments of the progress made in providing guidance to Part 139 airports and other airports on acceptable environmental limits, the Department of Defense's transition to a fluorine-free foam, best practices for decontamination, and timelines for policy and guidance release. The reports must be submitted every 180 days until the Administrator notifies Congress that the transition plan's development and implementation is complete.
