This bill authorizes the creation of special license plates for honorably discharged veterans in New Jersey. Specifically, veterans can apply for these personalized license plates by submitting a $50 application fee along with their DD-214 form or Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty. The program requires at least 500 completed applications before implementation, and surviving spouses of veterans will be allowed to retain and use these special license plates. The Motor Vehicle Commission must publicize the availability of these plates, and a liaison from the Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs will be appointed to oversee the program's implementation.
