AI Summary

This bill allows law enforcement to immediately impound vehicles used in certain traffic offenses, including: operating a vehicle without a valid license or with a suspended/revoked license, speeding 25 mph or more above the limit, fleeing from an officer, and racing on a highway. Impoundment is for 90 days, but the vehicle owner can request early release if they prove the vehicle was not being operated with their consent. The court can also adjust the impoundment period if the driver is found guilty of the underlying violation. The bill also requires the court to impose the reasonable costs of impoundment on the driver if they are found guilty.
