This bill expands Medicaid eligibility in Mississippi to include individuals under 65 years of age who are not pregnant, not enrolled in Medicare, and have an income not exceeding 133% of the federal poverty level, as authorized under the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The bill amends the existing state law to add this new eligibility category and requires the Division of Medicaid to provide the benchmark or benchmark equivalent coverage to those newly eligible individuals.
