This bill expands Medicaid eligibility in Mississippi to include individuals under 65 years of age who are not pregnant, not entitled to or enrolled for Medicare benefits, and whose income is not more than 133% of the federal poverty level, as authorized under the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The bill amends the existing Medicaid eligibility criteria in Mississippi to add this new category of eligible individuals, who will receive benchmark or benchmark equivalent coverage under the Medicaid program. The bill will take effect on July 1, 2024.
