This bill makes administrative changes to the Just Transition Office (JTO) in the Department of Labor and Employment. It defines the "Executive Director" as the Executive Director of the Department of Labor and Employment, and allows for subsequent versions of the Just Transition Plan to be developed through a similar process as the original plan. The bill also moves the JTO to be a Type 2 entity within the Office of the Executive Director, and gives the Executive Director the authority to appoint the JTO Director. Additionally, the bill expands the allowable uses of the Just Transition Cash Fund to include providing grants and other support directly to coal transition communities and other eligible entities, and extends the deadline for expending certain funds in the account. The bill also broadens the eligible recipients for assistance from the Coal Transition Workforce Assistance Program Account.
