Insurance providers cannot exclude coverage based on prior diagnoses or discriminate against patients based on their health conditions. The coverage must follow guidelines established by the American Society of Clinical Oncology and includes fertility preservation procedures, but excludes experimental treatments, third-party assisted reproduction technologies, and cryopreservation storage services. Importantly, the bill does not mandate that insurers cover these services for free, but rather requires them to make such optional coverage available.
