This bill modifies existing Wisconsin state law regarding vehicle lights used during funeral processions. Currently, the lead vehicle or all vehicles in a funeral procession may use a flashing amber light, and this bill expands that provision to also allow the use of a flashing purple light during the procession. Specifically, the bill amends section 347.25(3) of the Wisconsin statutes to add "or purple" after "amber" when describing the type of flashing light that can be used. The purpose appears to be providing additional visual signaling options for funeral processions, potentially to help other drivers recognize and respect the solemn nature of the proceeding by giving the vehicles special lighting privileges.
