AI Summary

This bill increases various nonresident hunting, fishing, trapping, and vehicle admission fees for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Specifically, the bill mandates that the DNR charge at least $19.85 for a daily nonresident vehicle admission receipt, which is required to operate a vehicle in state parks and other recreational areas. The legislation substantially raises fees for numerous hunting and fishing licenses, with increases ranging from $10 to $40 across categories such as small game, deer, elk, bear, archer, crossbow, and trapping licenses. For example, nonresident deer licenses will increase from $197.25 to $237.25, and nonresident trapping licenses will rise from $149.25 to $189.25. Other notable fee increases include wild turkey, wolf harvesting, and wild ginseng harvest permits. The bill also adjusts fees for guide licenses, sport trolling, and commercial fishing licenses. These fee increases will take effect on March 1, 2026, and are intended to generate additional revenue for the DNR while potentially offsetting the costs of managing wildlife and recreational resources.
