This bill prohibits educational institutions in Wisconsin from using live animals to train medical professionals, including students, residents, fellows, interns, or physicians, in the medical treatment of human beings, under specific conditions. These conditions are met if another accredited training program in the same medical field in Wisconsin does not use live animals, or if there's an alternative teaching method or accredited course that offers equivalent training without using live animals, such as using human cadavers, advanced synthetic simulators, virtual reality models, or other human anatomy-based alternatives. Any individual or institution violating this prohibition will face a forfeiture of $1,000 for each live animal used improperly.
