This bill, by creating a new section of statutes, prohibits "education employers" – which include school boards, charter school governing boards, and governing bodies of private schools participating in certain programs – from entering into agreements or taking actions that would suppress or destroy information about investigations into alleged "immoral conduct" by an employee, or that would prevent the employer or its employees from reporting such suspected conduct. It also prevents these employers from being required to erase records of alleged or substantiated immoral conduct unless the allegations are found to be false or unsubstantiated. Furthermore, the bill grants education employers immunity from civil liability when they provide information about an employee's conduct, including allegations of immoral conduct, to a prospective employer, meaning they cannot be sued for damages resulting from sharing this information.
