This bill, titled the "Colonel Gary La- Grange AgVets Act of 2026," amends the Agricultural Research, Extension, and Education Reform Act of 1998 to direct the Secretary of Agriculture to create a program that awards competitive grants to various eligible organizations, including cooperative extension services, land-grant colleges and universities, non-profit organizations, and others, for the purpose of establishing and improving farming and ranching opportunities for veterans. These grants can be used for training and education on farm and ranch business operations, developing curricula for veteran farmers, offering workshops and field experiences, and supporting other activities that help veterans gain agricultural knowledge and skills, with a requirement that grant recipients provide matching non-Federal funds. The bill authorizes $5 million annually for this program from fiscal years 2027 through 2031.
