This bill expands the responsibilities of the state reclamation, mosquito and tick control board to include the management of ticks and tick-borne illnesses, in addition to its existing duties concerning mosquitoes and greenhead flies. Specifically, it amends existing laws to include "ticks" alongside "mosquitoes" in various sections, adds an employee from the department of fish and game to the board, and allows the board to investigate and publish information on integrated pest management techniques for tick-borne disease prevention. The bill also renames the "Mosquito and Greenhead Fly Control Fund" to the "Mosquito, Greenhead Fly and Tick Control Fund" and enables the board to implement these pest management techniques in cities and towns upon their request, with the goal of protecting public health.
