This bill requires authorized representatives of school committees who are involved in organizing, paying for, or arranging post-regular season interscholastic athletic competitions and events, such as the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA), to annually report detailed financial information to their member school districts. This report must include an accounting of all revenue, such as member dues and private donations, as well as gate receipts and concession sales from these events. It also mandates a schedule of costs for securing event sites, itemized expenses related to organizing the competitions (including salaries, honorariums, travel, meals, venue costs, and security), and a schedule of expenses for the authorized representatives themselves, including salaries and retirement plans. Furthermore, the bill requires the report to outline the criteria and a written review of the site selection process for these competitions, along with the final evaluations and scores that led to site choices, and an annual evaluation of all available athletic facilities for such events, to be completed by June 30th and distributed to school committees within 60 days of completion or before the first Monday in December, whichever comes first.
