This bill establishes a commission tasked with researching and evaluating ways to boost tourism at the State House, specifically by exploring opportunities to increase sales at the State House bookstore and other gift kiosks. The commission will be comprised of various state officials, including the secretary of the commonwealth (who will chair the commission), the commissioner of conservation and recreation, the secretary of housing and economic development, two representatives from the House and two from the Senate (with minority party appointments), the superintendent of state buildings, and three individuals appointed by the governor. This commission is required to begin its work within two weeks of the bill's enactment, meet at least four times, and submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the legislature within twelve months of the bill's passage.
