This bill establishes a special legislative commission on young professionals to study how the Commonwealth of Massachusetts can better involve and educate this demographic in decisions and policies that affect them and the state, with the goal of identifying best practices and policies to attract and retain intellectual capital, making Massachusetts a desirable place for young professionals to live, work, and play. The commission will comprise 16 members, including appointees from the Governor, Secretaries of Housing and Economic Development, Labor and Workforce Development, and Education, as well as representatives from various young professional organizations across the state, with the possibility of adding more members upon the Governor's recommendation. This commission is mandated to meet within 30 days of the bill's passage and at least quarterly thereafter, with a deadline of 18 months from passage to submit its final recommendations to the Governor's Office and the House and Senate Ways and Means Committees.
