This bill mandates that the commissioner of the department of environmental protection, in collaboration with the commissioner of energy resources and the secretary of energy and environmental affairs, will conduct a thorough review of the effects of Chapter 169 of the Acts of 2008, known as the Green Communities Act. This investigation will assess progress made towards environmental goals established when the act was passed, evaluate the practicality of meeting those goals, and propose any necessary adjustments or recommendations. The findings of this comprehensive study are to be made public on the websites of the involved departments and the executive office of energy and environmental affairs, and formally submitted to legislative leadership and relevant committees by December 31, 2015.
