Based on this research, the department will develop strategic and legislative recommendations aimed at reducing oral injuries, potentially including the requirement for mandatory protective mouth gear in high-risk sports. Finally, the department is required to submit a report detailing its findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation to the clerks of the Senate and House of Representatives by December 31, 2015.
