This bill aims to protect individuals who purchase propane gas, referred to as "ratepayers," by requiring propane dealers to provide clearer contract terms and pricing information. Specifically, any contract or agreement for propane sales must be in writing and detail all delivery terms, as well as any legally permissible fees, charges, surcharges, or penalties. Furthermore, these contracts cannot automatically renew unless the consumer has the option to end the agreement with 30 days' written notice at the end of the initial term or any subsequent anniversary. Additionally, propane gas dealers operating in the state must prominently display their daily residential propane delivery price on their website.
