This bill modifies the requirements for specialty license plates in Florida by increasing the minimum number of presale voucher sales needed before a plate can be manufactured from 1,000 to 4,000, and also raises the minimum number of active registrations required for a plate to continue being issued from 1,000 to 4,000 for 12 consecutive months. The bill also introduces an exception to these minimum requirements for specialty plates that have inherent limitations on who can purchase them, such as collegiate license plates, and clarifies that the development and issuance of a specialty plate will be discontinued if the 4,000 presale voucher sales target is not met within 24 months.
