This bill directs the committee on Education to conduct an investigation and study of several House documents concerning charter schools, which are publicly funded schools that operate independently of traditional school districts. The committee is authorized to hold sessions even when the General Court, the Massachusetts legislature, is not in session. They are required to report their findings and any proposed legislative changes to the Clerk of the House of Representatives by December 31, 2016.
