This bill revises the delinquency fee that professional boards or the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) can impose on delinquent status licensees, increasing the fee to $25 and removing the previous cap of the biennial renewal fee for an active status license. Additionally, the bill reduces the surcharge that DBPR assesses on building permits from 1.5% to 1% of the permit fee, with a minimum of $2 collected on any permit. The bill specifies how the surcharge funds are to be allocated, including funding the Florida Building Commission, the Florida Building Code Compliance and Mitigation Program, and the State Fire Marshal's Florida Fire Prevention Code informal interpretations.
