This bill amends section 139 of chapter 164 of the General Laws to require distribution companies to accept and implement written notices from customers regarding the identities of recipients and amounts of net metering credits to be attributed to such recipients at least once per calendar month. It also allows distribution companies to purchase net metering credits from customers if the customer consents in writing prior to the purchase. Additionally, the bill requires distribution companies to provide written electronic confirmation of net metering credit allocations to designated recipients upon customer request and to allocate net metering credits to designated recipients within 60 days of generation, correcting any errors within 30 days.
