This bill establishes which actions may be brought against firearm and ammunition manufacturers, distributors, importers, trade associations, sellers, or dealers. It defines "firearm" and "ammunition" and states that the lawful manufacture, distribution, or sale of firearms and ammunition is not unreasonably dangerous, and that the unlawful use of these products, rather than their lawful sale, is the proximate cause of any injuries arising from their unlawful use. The bill prohibits actions against these parties for damages resulting from the lawful design, manufacture, marketing, or sale of firearms, accessories, or ammunition, or for damages resulting from the criminal or unlawful misuse of these products by a third party. However, the bill allows actions for breach of contract or warranty, damage or harm caused by a defective firearm or ammunition, and injunctive relief to enforce a valid statute, rule, or ordinance.
