This bill creates the America 250 - Colorado 150 Cash Fund in the state treasury. The fund consists of revenue from the sale of commemorative items related to the commission's marketing authority, as well as any other money appropriated or transferred to the fund by the General Assembly. The money in the fund is continuously appropriated to the America 250 - Colorado 150 Commission through History Colorado for the purpose of providing community grants to assist recipient communities with local opportunities related to the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States and the 150th anniversary of Colorado statehood. The commission is required to submit annual reports to the Joint Budget Committee about the community grants awarded and the use of the fund. The bill also extends the repeal date of the commission from June 30, 2027 to December 31, 2027.
