This bill extends the regulation of debt-management service providers in Colorado until September 1, 2035, based on the recommendations of the Department of Regulatory Agencies' 2023 sunset report. Specifically, it extends the functions of the administrator designated under Section 5-6-103 and the registration of debt-management service providers. The bill also requires debt-management service providers to maintain records of the personal finance education they provide to individuals, mandates that debt settlements be made through written agreements, and allows the administrator to administratively establish reasonable fees to cover the cost of administering the regulations.
