This bill amends Wisconsin Statute 814.65(1) to increase the maximum fee that a municipal court can collect for court costs in most actions from $38 to $48, with exceptions for certain financial responsibility violations and violations related to specific traffic ordinances. This fee applies regardless of how the case is resolved, whether by default, plea, warrant, summons, or trial, and a portion of the collected fee is remitted to the state's general fund while the remainder is kept by the municipality.
