AI Summary

This bill aims to enhance the participation, representation, and support for individuals aged 55 and older in Colorado's workforce by requiring the State Workforce Development Council and the Colorado Commission on Aging to meet twice annually to collect and analyze data on older adults in the workforce, and to collaborate on related issues. The Department of Labor and Employment and the Department of Human Services will jointly report this compiled data to the General Assembly, with the Department of Labor and Employment summarizing it during its annual "SMART Act" hearings, a process for legislative oversight of state agencies. Furthermore, the bill mandates that the State Workforce Development Council, the Commission on Higher Education, the State Apprenticeship Council (SAC), and the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education, or their successors, must each include at least one member who is at least 55 years old and has a demonstrated interest or experience in advocating for the workforce interests of older adults.
