This bill establishes a Sunset Advisory Commission composed of three members from the senate, three from the house of representatives, and two appointed by the governor, with one of the governor's appointees needing experience with the Boards and Commission Office. This commission will review all state commissions and boards, examining their membership, mission, goals, and objectives to suggest improvements in efficiency or transparency, and to recommend the dissolution of any boards that have fulfilled their purpose or have duplicative responsibilities. The commission will also identify boards with significant vacant seats or those that have been unable to meet or achieve a quorum for over a year, and must submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the senate, house clerks, and the governor by March 1, 2016.
