This bill authorizes the town of Middleborough to exchange certain parcels of land that are currently held for conservation purposes. Specifically, the town's board of selectmen and conservation commission can convey a 1.2-acre parcel on Old Center Street and Erica Avenue to another landowner. In return, the town will acquire a larger 7.88-acre parcel on or off Wood Street, which will also be managed for conservation. The purchase of this new parcel will cost $50,000, to be funded in part by the Community Preservation Fund, a fund established to support local preservation projects. The bill also allows the town to seek gifts, grants, or reimbursements from various entities to help complete these land transactions and to establish a perpetual conservation restriction on the newly acquired land.
