This bill authorizes the town of West Bridgewater to issue two new alcohol licenses, overriding existing general laws that might otherwise prevent this. Specifically, the town can grant one additional license for selling alcoholic beverages that are meant to be consumed on the premises (like in a restaurant) and another for selling alcoholic beverages that are not to be consumed on the premises (like in a liquor store). These new licenses are restricted to businesses located within the development at 860 North Main Street, known as West Bridgewater Plaza. The bill also states that these licenses cannot be transferred to any other person or entity outside of the West Bridgewater Plaza, though they can be granted to a new applicant within the plaza if that applicant demonstrates they are current on all taxes and contributions. If a license is returned to the licensing authority for any reason, it can be reissued to a new applicant under the same conditions.
