This bill authorizes the city of Salem to grant one additional license for the sale of alcoholic beverages that can be consumed on the premises, specifically to Cinemaworld of Florida, Inc., for a location at 355-373 Highland Avenue. This is an exception to a general rule (section 17 of chapter 138 of the General Laws) that limits the number of such licenses. The license will be subject to most of the existing alcohol sales laws, except for that specific limitation. The bill also outlines conditions for transferring the license, requiring it to remain at the same location and stipulating that a new applicant must demonstrate good standing with the departments of revenue and unemployment assistance.
