Bill Summary
To extend the deadline for commencement of construction of a hydroelectric project. (Sec. 1) This bill authorizes the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), upon the request of the licensee for FERC project numbered 13287 (Cannonsville Hydroelectric Project, New York), to extend the time period during which the licensee is required to commence the construction of the project for up to four consecutive two-year periods from the date of the expiration of the extension originally issued by FERC.
AI Summary
This bill allows the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), a government agency that regulates the interstate transmission of electricity, natural gas, and oil, to grant extensions for the start of construction on a specific hydroelectric project, numbered 13287, also known as the Cannonsville Hydroelectric Project in New York. If the project's licensee requests it, FERC can extend the deadline for commencing construction for up to four additional two-year periods, starting from when the original construction deadline expires. This provision also allows FERC to reinstate a license if its construction deadline has already passed before this bill becomes law, with the first extension taking effect from the original expiration date.
