Regulation Tracking 2.0

The big news of the year was the launch of our completely overhauled regulation tracking service. It is a much more powerful product, which looks and feel much closer to our bill tracking service.

On the query tab, the way you find regulations has also changed. The state selection and keyword search remain the same, but there are now many more ways to filter the results to get just the regulations you want: by regulation type, status, or agency.

The first thing to note here is that there is a single row for each regulation. All regulation bulletins are now fully split, with descriptive titles which will help you identify regulations of interest more easily. A much greater range of columns are available on the regulation sheet, including an AI summary column - the summary is for the full regulation, generated by looking at all available documents.

When you click to view the regulation, a summary tab gives you the state summary (if provided), our AI summary, the status, type, agency and effective date if available. The documents tab lists all the policy documents associated with the regulation - so it can include the proposed and final regulations, notice filings, and so on. When you view a document, you will see the PDF with an AI summary of just that specific document.

We've also adapted our ever popular similar bills feature for regulations. You can get an AI-generated list of similar regulations based on either a single regulation or the set of regulations in your regulation sheet.

It's also possible to now make stakeholder pages for regulation sheets, to help with sharing your results.

Finally, alerts for regulations have also been updated, allowing you to filter your alerts to just new regulations, new documents, new hearings and more.

We are very proud of the new service and genuinely consider it to be the best regulation tracking product out there. And we continue to refine and improve the service - we've introduced a regulation rollup sheet, included regulations in the API, and made numerous tweaks to gathering and displaying regulations in various states.

Executive Orders

The executive orders tool can be found near the bottom of the main blue menu on the left when you are logged in to BillTrack50, with either a free account or a subscription account. It is also available here for anyone who doesn't have a BillTrack50 account.

The tool will first show you a full list of presidential executive orders issued in the current congressional session, in date order with the most recent first. It does not show state level executive orders from governors. Each order will show the title, a plain English AI generated summary of the order, the date it was issued, and a link to the order on the federal register.

You can search for specific types of orders using the filter box at the top right. You can see a list of related bills from Congress and the states by clicking Similar Bills on the right of a particular order. The AI will return bills that are on a similar topic, they may not be written in direct response to the executive order.

The tool is a good starting point for any research into how the states and Congress are responding to the president's agenda.

HelpBot

Our very comprehensive help center was enhanced in 2025 by the addition of an AI powered helpbot. You can now ask questions about any aspect of using BillTrack50, and the friendly bot will explain the steps and provide useful links to help posts.

BillBot

And HelpBot has a friend! On every bill page there is now an Ask AI button, which lets you provide a custom prompt for the AI to analyze the bill, for example to see what the specific impact will be for your organization. Read this post for more details.

Pricing Overhaul

The big news back in January was the changes to our subscription services. We consolidated our services into two core products: bill tracking and regulation tracking. All the other premium features were bundled into all subscriptions, so everybody got legislator scorecards, advanced user management tools, afternoon alerts, and mobile stakeholder pages. We also introduced an auto renewal option for subscriptions and the option of a monthly payment plan.

At the same time we raised our prices, for the first time in five years. Thank you all for being so understanding and sticking with us!
